Omair is an Engineer holding a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Mathematics from Hawai’i Pacific University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering (dual emphasis in Control & Robotics and Computer Architecture & Organization) from the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California. With over 8 years of experience in the electronics industry, Omair founded Saiko Systems Ltd., a hardware design and manufacturing company located in Los Angeles, CA.
This website is dedicated to Omair’s personal interests: Photography, Travel, Food, Technology, and anything else that sparks his interest.
Omair’s interest for travel grew at a young age due to his family’s expatriate status which afforded them many opportunities to travel Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
He was first introduced to SLR Cameras, photography in Black and White film and dark room printing at the American International School of Lagos, Nigeria. Omair’s grasp of the medium grew deeper thanks to advanced arts classes he attended while at the boarding school of the American Community School located in Cobham, UK. In 2001, he came across a unique opportunity to spend a month back-packing in Namibia on a charity trip with other students from ACS. Taking his SLR camera along with him, Omair’s true love for landscape photography was born on this trip.
Science and Technology has also been a part of Omair’s life for as long as he can remember. During his first visit to a movie theater at the age of three, he was more interested in having his back turned to the screen and observing where the projector’s beam of light was coming from rather than watching the movie.
With his core educational focus on a path to engineering, Omair also dedicated his spare time to helping maintain and improve the Computer Labs and technology infrastructures at both his Middle and High schools. During his college years, Omair volunteered his time to help with PhD research at the Center for Robotics and Embedded Systems (Now known as the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Center).
In his professional career, Omair has developed Embedded Systems for both Industrial and Commercial applications. His experience includes working with microcontrollers, wireless and wired communications, embedded graphics and displays, sensors, memory interfaces, and much more!
